Disco delight for Devon
The Haldon Group from Devon FYFC proved they knew how to work the dance floor in the Empress Ballroom to win this year’s national Disco Dancing final.
The team, made up of members of Cheriton & Tedburn, Okehampton and Bow YFCs, out-funked nine other teams to take the top prize.
While they may have looked like veteran disco divas, the members are all beginners and had to squeeze in practice sessions in between lambing!
Dan Grist said: “None of us are dancers, but we do enjoy a boogie!
“It feels amazing to win! When we were choreographing it, we just watched loads of YouTube videos to get lots of ideas.”
All teams in the competition consisted of between six and 10 members with routines lasting between three and five minutes.
Congratulations also go to the County team from Cornwall who came second and Wigton YFC from Cumbria who took third.
