Huw bigs up farmers!
BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens can’t believe it was two whole years since he last rocked National Convention.
“Was it really two years ago?” he asked. “I just remember having a brilliant time.
“All the rumours are true – it’s always a brilliant night, it’s always a lot of fun.”
Huw is also a regular at the Young People’s Village in Wales and he has always had a soft spot for rural life.
“My wife is from an agricultural area so I’ve picked up a couple of things,” he said.
“I’ve been stuck behind tractors and delayed by cows and stuff….
“But of course I’m happy to be delayed by them because they’re doing such an important job!
“As Greg James says, farming is the backbone of this country. I always big up the farming community whenever I can.
One of the things I love about is that, when I’m on late at night on Radio 1, there’s always a text from someone on a tractor ploughing the fields at something like half-past-eleven. They’re brilliant!”
