Poul Christensen made Life Vice President

The dedication and support that five people have shown to the YFC organisation was recognised at NFYFC’s Annual General Meeting when they were each honoured with the title of Life Vice President.

Former NFYFC President Poul Christensen CBE and Margaret Christensen, David Heminsley and Benjamin and Caroline Westwood were all elected as Life Vice Presidents of NFYFC.

Poul, who served as NFYFC’s President for four years, gave an acceptance speech on behalf of the group that had been elected.

He thanked everyone at the AGM for electing the five to the new role and quipped that he had been waiting for an amendment to the proposal from Lancashire.

During his speech, he urged YFC members to recognise the value of being part of the Federation.

“Run by Young Farmers for Young Farmers – and we have seen that today manifested by the debate you have had.”

“You have something precious – nurture it, treasure it, grow it. You are holding it in your hands – don’t drop it. It’s immensely important not only to you but to future generations.”
