Why Scott Mills flew from Stockholm to Blackpool JUST for Young Farmers

Radio One DJ Scott Mills flew all the way from Stockholm to perform for Young Farmers at the 2016 Convention in Blackpool.

Scott is covering Eurovision for the BBC in the Swedish capital but the pull of Convention was too big to resist so he came back to the UK via Holland – and went straight back to Sweden at the end of his set.

Scott was once again performing with fellow Radio One DJ Chris Stark after their amazing set in Blackpool two years ago

Speaking before he went on stage, Scott said: “I just peeked outside and it looks better than ever. It’s just going to be great – thanks for inviting us tonight.”

And they’re both really pleased to be Young Farmers Ambassadors. Chris said: “We’re not farmers. But we just want to show a good bit of support to this amazing community – they show us so much support, so it’s the least we can do.”

“It’s been great and we’re getting such good feedback,” said Scott. “We’ve been on Countryfile and gave a really good plug to everything that young farmers do.

“I was talking to friends in Stockholm about it last night and they just don’t realise the issues that farmers have to deal with but also how much fun they have. When I told them that there would be 5,000 people here, they just couldn’t believe it.

“Young farmers work extremely hard but they also enjoy themselves really hard!”
